Adjective

Qualifies a noun or pronoun.
There are following types of adjective:
  1. Adjective of quality
  2. Adjective of quantity
  3. Adjective of number
  4. Demonstrative Adjective
  5. Distributive Adjective
  6. Interrogative Adjective
  7. Possessive Adjective
  8. Coordinate Adjective
  9. Descriptive Adjective
  10. Proper Adjective

1. Adjective of Quality

An adjective which state the quality of a noun or pronoun.
Example: She is beautiful.

2. Adjective of Quantity

An adjective which states the quantity of noun.
Example: She bought 2 kg sugar.
i.e. much, kg, liter etc.

3. Adjective of Number

An adjective which tells the number of countable noun.
Example: She has two  pens.
i.e. many, one, second etc.

4. Demonstrative Adjective

It demonstrate something by coming just before the noun.
Example: This pen is mine.

5. Distributive Adjective

It distributes a noun by coming just before the noun.
Example: Every student is supposed to be the future of the nation.

6. Interrogative Adjective

It asks a question by coming just before the noun.
Example: Which book is yours?

7. Possessive Adjective

It shows possession by coming just before the noun.
Example: This is my book.

8. Coordinate Adjectives

They come in sequence to modify the same noun.
Example: A warm, dense fog had settled over the paddies and there was the stillness that precedes rain.

9. Descriptive Adjective

It is used to explain description of a noun.
Example: The shirt was red.

10. Proper Adjective

An adjective made up of proper noun.
Example: She looks like Japanese.
